Week 3

Image
We're finishing the design. With the design finished we will also be able to finish our parts list and budget. We are running into an issue with the ground contact mechanism and how we will implement that on the legs. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LkPzsh2HdTsCIow2JFldC-85aiSe7aDj/view?usp=sharing

Week 7

Image
We finished the assembly but ran into a little bit of a hiccup with the brazing. It won't work. Simple as that Jimmy is not experienced enough to make good welds and make it structurally sound. Therefore we are going back and designing a gusset plate to put at the joints. Hopefully that will fix the problem and we can test today or tomorrow.

Week 2

Image
Blog has officially been started and this is the second post. The design has been mostly flushed out but we're still working out some kinks here and there. The budget, timeline, and proposal are all done. The proposal and timeline are finalized but the budget is a rough draft. We hope to order parts as soon as our design has been finalized. link to our presentation is included below. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LkPzsh2HdTsCIow2JFldC-85aiSe7aDj

Week 1

Image
We have begun work on the Phiddipus Project. For the first week we started our design, troubleshot some issues, and focused on creating a rough budget. We figured out what parts we plan to use and we found projected costs for those parts. Next week the Proposal, timeline, and budget is due.

Week 6

Image
We just got back from Spring break and we were hard at work over the break. I took all the aluminum I cut for mine home and put it through my dads drill press to drill all the holes. I also used a miter box with a powerful reciprocating saw to cut my angles. Once I was finished with all that I went ahead and practiced some brazing on aluminum scraps laying around before I did anything of consequence with the actual parts. https://drive.google.com/file/d/14qkvykVJF-rbIbbkNks-_KykeEHA0vE4/view?usp=sharing

Week 5 P2

Image
We have officially finished cutting all our parts up into the sizes we need. We are now drawing each part so we can begin to drill the holes and maybe even bolt it together. https://drive.google.com/file/d/14qkvykVJF-rbIbbkNks-_KykeEHA0vE4/view?usp=sharing

Week 5

Image
Our parts just came in and we are going over it to see if anything is missing. We have to make a cut list before we can begin to cut our parts. Once we cut the parts we will set everything up to drill our holes and maybe even begin to bolt it all together. We are also making an updated version of are budget since we realized we could make our lives easier by buying pre-cut material.
